APCTT actively participated in the APEC Voluntary Contribution Platform for Best Practices in Open Innovation Ecosystems workshop, held from 24 to 26 May 2026 in Beijing.

On the afternoon of 25 May, during the Open Discussion session , the APCTT delegate delivered an intervention focusing on how the Center can empower the Voluntary Contribution Platform. The presentation highlighted APCTT’s role in facilitating technology transfer, connecting innovation stakeholders across APEC economies, and providing capacity-building support to ensure that best practices in open innovation ecosystems are effectively collected, shared, and replicated.

The Open Discussion was part of a broader workshop that brought together policymakers, innovation experts, and industry leaders from APEC member economies, including Korea, Mexico, Peru, Russia, Thailand, USA, etc. 

During the discussion, the APCTT representative emphasized the importance of institutional coordination and technical assistance in maximizing the impact of the Voluntary Contribution Platform. Concrete examples were shared on how APCTT’s ongoing projects can directly support the platform’s goals of promoting open innovation ecosystems across the Asia-Pacific region.

The intervention was well received by participants, sparking further exchange on how APEC economies can collaborate to scale up successful models.
